First Timer, I Am!
Posted by Sharon Johnson
from West Grove, PA

I have been coming down to Ocean City, NJ, from the Philadelphia area since I was two years old, which was the summer of 1956.  I grew up coming with my family and extended family until I went to college.  Then I came down with my girlfriends (and boyfriends) until I was married at age thirty two.  My husband and I and eventually my son have been coming down now for twenty four years.  We have rented houses, stayed in motels, inn, and for the last few years tried our hand at camping.  For this visit, July, 2011, I am here on my own visitng friends that are down.

This is my first time staying at the Osborne Fairview Inn.  I came down without a room reservation.  I stopped at the Welcome Center where the Ocean City Chamber graciously helped me find a room and for the right price. Thankfully they led me here to Osborne's, a place I had walked past many times and wondered about staying at.  What a great place this is!  The rooms are beautiful, neat and clean.  The porch is delightful to sit on - always a breeze.  The location is great - close to everything.  The Osborne's are a wonderful family, they make you feel as if you belong from the moment you walk in.

I will definitely be back and recommend it to my friends.  Thanks for the chance to relax for a much needed vacation.

Ohio is nice, BUT
Posted by Julie and Gary Gregory
from Dayton, Ohio

Ohio is nice but Ocean City is nicer.  As longtime residents of Dayton, we eagerly anticipate our summer visits to the Jersey shore, which began in 1987 at my hometown of Asbury Park.  In 1988 we diverted to the South Jersey shore for a motel stay in OceanCity.  Over the years we have stayed at various spots, including the houses of friends in Ocean City and Somes Point.  Most of those summer visits were especially nice and full of fun because we brought our two sons to the shore up to the year of 2000.

Julie and I 'discovered' the Osbornes in 2008 while we were staying at a nearby motel.  We met Frank, picked up the  brochure and left for Ohio.  Without questions, we knew the 'motel' days were behind us.  As soon as possile we resered a week's stay in the Fall, and are we glad we did.

The Osborne's hospitality - what a fantastic couple of Frank and Peggy Ann - has been the icing on the cake for a wonderful week.  The walks on the boardwalk, the ocean surf, the seafood and the driving tour of South Jersey to Avalon, Stone Harbor, Wildwood and Cape May was a terrific way to see the sights.

Thanks to Frank and Peggy Ann for making this summer visit our 'Home away from Home.'  All our best as you continue going forward with your wonderful Inn.

Love is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of the Osborne's!  so many happy memories!  I remember when Peg and Frank welcomed their first grandchildren.  Twins!  So much joy!  I don't remember her ever being quite that happy!  She always was happy, but this was different!  The Osborne Inn  was such a happy place for us!  The beach was John's very favorite place to be!  I loved walking with Peg.  I remember one time when we were walking and she saw a young girl with her Mother.  Peg greeted her with wide open arms and a big smile!  I realized she was a special needs child, And , I said to myself, That is who Peg Osborne is!  Wonderfull

'Do the best you can rather than the least you can get away with' is what I tell my students and sons repeatedly.  Peggy Ann and Frank always do everything to insure that their guests are comfortable and happy.  Other places have signs on the doors with lists of rules and requirements.  Osbornes have the internet connection and an invitation to ask for forgotten items rather than running out to shop.  Guests are encouraged to stay the day of check out.  The Inn is welcoming in every way.  Owners, family, and guests are friendly and kind.  Everything is clean and well equipped.  Time spent at Osbornes is the best time of the summer.

Thanks for my Anniversary T Shirt.  I'm enjoying it.

Last minute phone call.  I wound up on the Osborne's porch with my 'sweetie', Sylvia, and had a great time visiting with the Osborne Family. Frank was my Mother's employer 'way back when'. Fun to see the family growing.  Fun to realize that we never grow old when we stay at the Beach.

We've been coming to the Osbornes for so many years.  We started in Apartment A and moved around to the different rooms.  This year, 2013, we are in Apartment T.  Sure do love it here.  Sure do enjoy making so many happy memories.  Hard to believe we came here before our "Angel Ali" was born, now she is trying out for the hockey team.  It's back and forth each day to Cherry Hill, but it sure is worth it - that's the beach and hockey!  We are in a "win win" time in our lives.

Linda and I have grown to love Osborne City.  All our family comes here as a group.  When it is just Linda and me we always 'grab a place' at Osborne's and fit right into.  We love it here.  Good people and good friends1

Helping "The Sun" news magazine to grow is one of the love's of my life.  Being in Ocean City full time in another great "love of my life".  Coming from Cheltenham, PA and knowing the Osbornes "forever" makes this job just one giant chuckle after another.  So many blessings!
