Watching the seagulls soar!

Since I was a little girl I have always loved going to the beach, dipping my toes in the water and playing in the sand.  As we drive through Somers Point and over the bridge, I always roll down the windows and breathe in the salty air while watching the seagulls soar!  It was several years ago that my violin student's family (the Magee's) recommended that we stay at the Osborne's Inn.  We have loved it and your family so much that we come back every summer.  Your place feels like 'home' in delightful Ocean City.  Thanks for all you do to make this place so special.  Congratulations on thirty years.  we hope to come here for thirty more.

Thought of everything!

1998

Thank you to the Osborne family for many wonderful years.  Twenty some years ago my parents started coming here.  The year was 1978.  My Mom loved the shore and the Osborne's - it was probably her favorite place to come.  My paarents were the reason we came to the Osborne Fairview Inn, a great thing!!!  My own family has had so much fun here it has been about twenty years for us.  This is the closest place to home away from home for us.  Thank you again to a dear and wonderful family.

Love,

The Lare Family - Chuck, Anna Marie, Chuckie, Jimmy & Kelly

We had a great weekend in Ocean City sharing some time with you.  We love staying at Osborne's Fairview Inn.

Our memories go way back to when my Mom and Dad stayed at the Cottage when my brothers and sisters and I were really 'little kids'.  The memories continue.  We so enjoyed our children coming with us through the years.  Now it's Chuck and me as we continue to make more and happy memories together here with you in Ocean City.

Thanks.

From my earliest recollections as a child, summer and Ocean City were always synonymous.  From the time of my birth in 1955 to the summer of 1970, our family never missed a summer where we did not spend at least one week in Ocean City.  As a child, I remember that we usually stayed around the 29th Street and Asbury Avenue area because the beaches were much wider at that end of Ocean City.  One summer I got to spend a week in the Gardens section of Ocean City as it was called back then.  My uncle, who was a Catholic priest, served during the summers at St. Francis Cabrini, and I got to spend a week or so at the rectory of the church.  My uncle would then drive me down to 29th Street where I would meet a very good friend and I’d spend the day at the beach.  At night, EVERY NIGHT, it was the Boardwalk!

There are several things about the boardwalk that are special to me.  Mack and Manco’s Pizza, Copper Kettle Fudge, the Fairytale and Polynesian Golf courses were all frequently visited by me as a child.  What a thrill it was for me when the Wonderland Pier was built.  The summer that it opened in 1969 I think I rode every ride!

From 1971 to 1988 I was not able to make it back to Ocean City.  However, in 1989, after wearing my family out talking about Ocean City, NJ, we decided to go.  What a surprise to discover that you had to buy beach tags to be able to goon the beach!  What a surprise to discover that there was a beach around the boardwalk!  What a disappointment to find a '7-11' on the Boardwalk (sacrilege)!  But what a joy to have my own children ride the very rides I enjoyed at Wonderland Pier in its 20th anniversary year. That was very special indeed!

From 1989 to the present, we have been to Ocean City five times.  Of those five times, twice we have enjoyed the hospitality of the Osborne Inn and hope to continue to do so in those years that our vacation plans include Ocean City.  It is with pride that I say that my children are now the fourth generation of the Hansell Family that love Ocean City!

July 27, 2002

We have been coming to Ocean City for many years now.  This is by far the best place we’ve ever stayed.  We appreciate all the extra effort that goes into our stay.  Our six year old daughter, Audrey, wanted to say that the best thing this year was that she learned how to “boogie board”.  Every year the memories just keep getting better and better.  Thanks for everything.

We still remember the day at the Mount Celebrauction when you invited us to share your vacation home for a week that summer – thirteen summers ago!  Since then we have experienced many days of peace and relaxation by the ocean.  You are the most gracious hosts – we cannot thank you enough.  Congratulations on thirty years and best wishes for  many more.  You are in our thoughts and prayers.

The first year we vacationed here at the Osborne’s, we knew we would come to this place every year after that. Many times we were a little late in getting a reservation, but my father would simply ask for any room just as long as it was here! There are so many great memories!  Our family always feels so welcome and comfortable here. Thank you for your great hospitality and for helping us out endlessly! Happy 30th! This is defiantly our “home away from home”!  See You Soon!

Three Favorite Memories

We have three favorite memories among many from last summer;

Lauren says his favorite is:   Bring Home Real Hermit Crabs.

Tony’s not able to tell us but I know his are the seagulls. He’s still imitating them.

Last is my favorite memory; it’s being on the beach with mom and the boys and going into the water with them and along comes a wave and knocks Mom and Lauren over and every time Mom tried to get up another wave hit her rear end and knocked her over again.  We laughed until we cried.  We cannot wait to come down for vacation.  We have made sooo many happy memories here.  Thanks for helping us to make this happen!

Ocean City, New Jersey - NOT Ocean City, Maryland

First of all “congratulations” on 30 wonderful years in Ocean City. My family has been coming here for over forty years! We have stayed in many places from 14th street to 17th street.  Several places have been torn down and new homes and condos have been built. My favorite part of OC has to be the boardwalk! It has always been fun to ride bikes or walk in the mornings and then later to walk at night. I am so glad that our family had the chance to meet Megan at Angelo’s so that we could stay at the “ Osborne's Fairview Inn”. We always feel “at home” here and welcome. It’s nice to share our family memories with each other! Now that we are living in Maryland, I always feel proud saying that we go to the O.C. in NJ rather than in MD.   Ocean City, NJ, still has that “family” atmosphere, We feel safe here! Thanks again for making our stay warm and inviting.

Hebrews 13: 1-2

“Keep on loving each other as brothers. Do not forget to entertain strangers for by doing so some people can have entertainment angels without knowing it.”

What a great time we had while staying at your home. We are so impressed with your kindness, friendliness, and hospitality. Not too many people we know (including ourselves) could so graciously open up their home to so many different people.  Your willingness to do this is so beautifully displayed in your children’s lives. All or your children are so sweet and friendly.   It made us rethink how we treat people who come to our business.  You did not treat us like “customers”,  but rather like friends. Thank you, we will try to display that same philosophy and hospitality.  It is encouraging to see a family like yours that can work together, play together, and truly enjoy each other’s company. That is something we are striving for. Thank you for providing an affordable, enjoyable place for us to spend here in Ocean City.
